New Private Sewer Solution Set to Ease Housing Crisis in Adelaide’s North
South Australian homebuyers can now confidently secure their future in Angle Vale, with land sales officially resuming soon in Miravale, an award-winning development in Adelaide’s North.
A newly approved private sewer solution has reignited land sales in Angle Vale, providing much-needed confidence for homebuyers in Adelaide’s North. This collaboration between South Australian developers and the State Government addresses significant infrastructure delays that were constraining the rollout of sewer services. This breakthrough marks a critical step toward alleviating land supply shortages in one of Adelaide’s most sought-after regions.
This innovative new wastewater facility is the result of a collaborative effort between three local South Australian developers: Lanser (Miravale), Fairland (The Entrance), and 23 North Developments (23 North). Together, these developers formed a working group, with the sponsorship of the State Government, to deliver a private sewer solution to the area.
The new plant, to be built by South Australian-owned Factor UTB, is already licensed by ESCOSA and has received council approvals. This facility is expected to be operational by July 2025, providing a long-term sewer solution that will support connections to 4,000 new homes allowing these developments to resume their land release schedules in the coming weeks. The plant and associated infrastructure will cost over $12m and provide 50 new jobs.
Confidence Restored for Homebuyers
“This is a significant step forward for Angle Vale and for homebuyers in Adelaide’s North,” said Shaun Bowden, Managing Director of Lanser. “We’re proud to have worked with fellow developers and the State Government to bring this private solution to life. This brand new sewer plant will ensure we can deliver on our promises and meet the region’s demand for new homes.”
Liam Golding, Chief Executive of the UDIA (SA), said “We commend the State Government’s Housing Roadmap for enabling innovative private sector solutions like this new wastewater plant in Adelaide’s North. By supporting this initiative, the government is helping to unlock thousands of homes and address critical housing demand through smart infrastructure.”
Malcolm Long, Chief Executive of Factor UTB, said “Factor UTB is proud to be part of this collaborative effort to deliver much-needed infrastructure. This new wastewater plant represents a significant step forward, and we’re excited to get on site and start the work that will allow more families to start building their new homes. This project is a great example of how private and public sectors can work together to address the housing challenges in our community.”
